All Black Ka-bar features a 5 1/4 in. Tanto blade made form 1095 Cro-Van steel with a non-reflective, epoxy coating and a black Kraton G handle. Knife has an overall length of 9 3/8 in. And comes with a black leather sheath.

Ka-Bar continues it's high level of quality with the tanto models. My first knife was a ka-bar marine fighter, through the years I've always went back to a ka-bar. The 5.25 is smaller than you'd expect, not just in length, but also how it feel in your hand. The rubberized handle keeps a good tack to your hand, so your grip won't be much of a problem. You will have to get used to the small diameter of the handle, as well as the hilt. The pommel has a good heft, and even though it doesn't feel like it, the knife is well balanced.
If you are not familiar with a Tanto point, it is a sharp angle to the tip of a blade. inspired from the Samuri fighting short sword, this forging technique was designed to pierce armor(PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS!!) Unless you are experienced with type of blade your first couple times sharping it will be a little intimidating.
My singular complaint about this model was the leather hunting sheath it came in. It's the same sheath your grandpa's Buck knives came with. It works, but I felt that Ka-bar dropped the ball on this angle. A ballistc condura nylon sheath would seem more sensible. The leather limits your carry options to which side of your hip you want it on.
This is not my favorite of my Ka-Bars, but like the rest of them I know it can hold up to whatever happens to come at it. It never really matters, if you have a Ka-bar in your hands, you've got a good chance.
