I LOVE this knife. I love knives in general (my wife wonders why I need so many knives. It's not a question of need - they're just cool), and this is easily my favorite one. It holds a wonderful edge, the handle feels great, and the Axis mechanism makes it extremely fast to open and close (MUCH faster and more convenient than my auto Benchmade, where I have to undo a safety and physically fold the blade back in, rather than flicking it closed). With a little bit of practice, you can easily flick it closed one handed, just opposite motion of flicking it open. Anyway, it's extremely well made (as are all the Benchmades I've encountered). Is it worth the price premium over, say, a Gerber, Kershaw, or Buck? Well, if you're just looking to cut stuff, and not interested in the design of the knife, probably not. They'll all cut. While both Kershaw and Buck make nice American made knives, Benchmade's Axis locking system is hard to beat (I can't count the number of times my Kershaw has opened up in my pocket and stabbed my thigh) - locks the blade both in and when out. Makes the blade feel really stable. I'd definitely buy this knife again.
