Green River 8.5" Sheath Knife & Leather Belt Sheath Review

This is for all practical purposes a small butcher knife of the sort used by everyone a couple of generations back. The blade is thin to make it a better cutter and allow you to continue to use a heavily worn blade. As a general use knife I love it. Oil the handle and keep the blade oiled or it will rust. The sheath swallows all but a tad of handle meaning the knife isn't going to fall out. The sheath is made of good leather but the final finish isn't as nice as it might have been.

Vim Products AWH12 Review

I work as a floorhand for the largest drilling company in the world. We have a saying "every hammer is a tool and every tool is a hammer." When I saw this wrench I had to have it. I have been using and abusing this tool on the rig now for about two months. I have not been easy on it to say the least. It is extremely well made. I have used it to pound with and pound on, it has shown no sign of giving in to my abuse. The only "negative" I have is that the Philips head screw that holds the adjustment parts in will loosen while using it as a hammer. I plan to put some locktite on it but as of now just continue to tighten it up on occasion. I would recommend this tool to anyone and have recommended it to several roughnecks that I work with.

Milwaukee 0202-20 7 Amp 3/8-Inch Drill with Keyless Chuck Review

Bought a very good condition, used one from Amazon Warehouse at substantial discount (the ONLY reason why I bought it as I'm not a fan of Chinese made tools at all). This drill is made in China (for those who still wonder). Upon opening the box, it had a lot of oil leaking out from the gearbox. I opened the screws holding the gearbox to the body and reseated the seal and everything seems OK. Milwaukee went cheap (even though they still charge customers the same price) with their tools nowadays. The chuck's jaws are not carbide-lined anymore, just plain steel. I didn't care about that because I replaced the chuck with a 1/2" LFA chuck anyway. This drill has 1/2"-20 spindle thread and therefore will take almost all 1/2" and up chucks that you want to replace it with. It has decent power and speed (7 amps and 1200rpm) for what I use it for. The 3-stars reflects the oil-leaking seal experience.

I've just had this for a few days and haven't even used it yet so don't take this review seriously. This is just meant for my first impressions with the drill. I kinda regret that I didn't buy it when almost all Milwaukee tools were made either in the USA, Japan or Germany.

Update (03/18/2012):

So far it seems to hold up well. Chuck concentricity is good. Drill has lots of power for a 3/8" range. Decent high-speed drill (1200 RPMs). It still exudes that "Made in USA" quality feel even though it was made in China. Therefore, I increased the rating to 4 stars (previously 3 stars)

Time will tell whether it will last.

The Buck company for a few years now, has seemed to be selling mostly Chinese Knives. That all seems to be changing however, and the Omni Hunter is a great example of how Buck is turning things around. Made in america, with a drop point blade, the Omni Hunter is what a knife should be. Its razor sharp, and fits well within most peoples budgets. I can see this knife lasting your lifetime, and should never give you any problems at all. And if it does, its backed by Bucks Lifetime warrenty. Where else can you pay under $30, and get that kind of deal? The knife is, in my opinion the perfect size for gutting deer sized animals. I do prefer a smaller knife for cutting the lungs, heart, and windpipe out, but a knife this size is needed for the rest of the chore. It should make a good skinning knife as well. The blade has plenty of belly for most any chore. BUY AMERICAN, BUY BUCK!!!

Bosch 36614-02 1/2-Inch 14-2/5-Volt Compact-Tough Litheon Drill/Driver with 2-Slim Batteries Review

There are those who are loyal to Milwaukee or DeWalt, but they are probably not up-to-date on what is being offered. I have carefully checked specs on cordless drills--and so should you. You will find that Bosch offers more torque than it's competitors and is usually lower priced. This drill is terrific. Much lighter and smaller than the old Ni-cad battery Bosch I used to have. I loved the little 12 volt, but if you do much with large drill bits or forstner bits you will need this 14.4 volt. I used to have lots of color in my tools: Milwaukee red, DeWalt yellow, and so on. Now I see a shelf of blue. I have not been disappointed in any of my Bosch purchases. I have 3 drills, 3 routers, 2 sanders, and a jig saw. When I replace my circular saw I will look first at Bosch.
