I rated this clamp as a 5 star because of the purpose that I intended to use them for. They are nice looking and are intented for light duty clamp such as 3/8 planks for clocks or so. the clamps have a whole 13 inches of glueing surface. If you plan on glueing thicker board just make sure that your straight edges have no bow and come together with no pressure on the boards and these clamps will work ok. If I plan on glueing up big or thick stock I get the big boys out. Bottom line use the right clamp for every job. I do not recommand anything over the 12 inch in these clamps because they are light duty clamps.
