I needed a new 1/2" wrench for daily auto work and I'm glad I chose the 1404. It's strong enough to break free axle, lug and pinion nuts and it's also good at finessing things together. The trigger allows for a lot of modulation making it easy to gradually run nuts up studs without busting something. If you've been a wrench for a while then you know that nothing can ruin your day, cost you a lot of money, get you into trouble and make one feel like a fool than breaking stuff putting it together. With this gun, I am in control. AND it really is quiet. The hammer is louder than the motor. A great impact.
