I'm a hobbyist and found that using a hacksaw was really laborious to work on my projects. I was looking for an inexpensive bandsaw that would make things easier. This was the right price ($77 when I bought it) and it was the right size. some of my straight lines are a little wavy, I'm not sure if that's the blade or unsteady hands.
