I have one of these and thankfully only need to use it occasionally. Unless you're doing a lot of slab work, this tool is probably not something you will use every day, but when needed, it really can help save some major headaches. It works very similar to a swaging tool for copper tubing, but in this case, you use a hammer to drive it into the end of tubing that has been bent or squashed out of round to reshape it. It's made for use with 1/2" and 3/4" thinwall EMT tubing, not heavywall conduit like IMC or RMC. This tool by design naturally has a very tight tolerance fit, so if the EMT has been previously cut, you need to thoroughly remove any burr left on the inside edge of the tubing, because if even a small amount of burr remains, the tool could overly expand the tubing leaving it with too large an outside diameter for your coupling or other fitting to slide on easily. If you work with small size EMT often, for thirty bucks, having one of these on hand would probably be good insurance.
