I admit that I can be lazy at times. With a regular utility knife, I would put up with a dull blade to avoid the process of finding a screwdriver, taking apart the knife, lifting out the old blade, aligning the new one, then reassembling the knife while making sure the blade extender stays on the track. All of this on a counter or the floor.

The quick-change works by extending the blade, pushing up on the black slider, pulling out the old, putting in the new, then releasing the slider. It's that simple, and that quick. I'll test it one time by tugging on the blade to make sure it's locked into place.

There is a handy swing out blade holder at the top of the handle so grabbing a fresh blade is just as convenient as putting it in.

Two minor downsides: the cable cutter doesn't work very well, and isn't quite as hefty as some other utility knives. Neither is a big deal to me.

Can't believe I wrote this much about a $10 utility knife but it's that good. I even made the effort to buy another one.
